Purchase verification tokens processed through Google Play or the Apple App Store (we do not store payment card details)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information for the following purposes:

Core App Functionality

To generate personalized relationship gesture suggestions
To schedule and deliver nudge notifications at appropriate times
To enable partner pairing features

AI-Powered Suggestions

To generate personalized suggestions, we send limited data to third-party AI services (currently Anthropic Claude and OpenAI). The specific data shared with AI providers includes:

Interest preferences — items from one selected interest category (e.g., favorite cuisines or music genres)
Location — city and country only (GPS coordinates are never sent to AI providers)
Exclusions — allergies, dietary restrictions, and dislikes (so suggestions avoid these)
Time context — general time of day (e.g., "morning," "evening") and whether it is a weekday or weekend
Recent suggestion titles — titles of your last 10 suggestions (to avoid repetition)

No names, email addresses, account identifiers, or other personally identifying information is sent to AI providers. All data is sanitized before transmission to remove potentially sensitive content.

Location-Based Venue Lookup

If you enable location features, your coordinates may be sent to Foursquare's Places API to find nearby venues relevant to suggestions. This data is used solely for venue lookup and is not stored by us beyond the immediate request.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

Google Firebase — authentication, cloud data storage (Firestore), push notifications (FCM), crash reporting (Crashlytics), and hosting
Anthropic (Claude) / OpenAI — AI-powered suggestion generation (receives limited, non-identifying data as described above)
Foursquare — location-based venue lookup (receives coordinates only when location is enabled)
Google Play / Apple App Store — subscription and purchase verification

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising. Data shared with third-party services is limited to what is necessary for the specific functionality described above.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Retention: We retain your data only as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the app's services.

Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email address below. You can also:

Revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings
Remove interest preferences and exclusions within the app
Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
Firebase App Check to verify legitimate app traffic
Firestore security rules restricting data access to authorized users
Input validation and AI prompt injection defenses
Content safety filters on AI-generated suggestions

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Tender Reminders is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy within the app and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
